The Craft of leadership Workshop (CLW) focuses on "people" management responsibilities how to lead, motivate, coach, and communicate. Also, it helps managers reflect on their management practice to assess strengths and areas for improvement and/or growth. CLW provides a framework and a common organizational language to define and resolve problems managers encounter in their supervisory roles.
CLW is not a traditional "skills" workshop one which emphasizes correct learning of prescribed principles, techniques, and practices. Rather, it helps a manager to think managerially and sharpen her/his ability to diagnose situations, develop alternatives, and practice supervisory strategies on real life issues. It is a core management development program.
CLW allows participants
to set and work on their own personal learning goals and applications.
By means of input lectures, group discussions, skill practice
sessions, and real-time problem-solving, participant managers
are helped to define themselves as managers and resolve their
own supervisory issues. A fundamental premise of the workshop
is to enable managers to reflect on and learn from their own practice
of the "craft" of management.
